2019. What a year, huh? For me it has been full of great artistic growth and great personal challenges. It's a year that has brought some amazing new allies in the art world but has also taken with it some of my dearest people. In all, I am happy to leave 2019 behind, and though I am more than tempted to tiptoe cautiously into 2020, weary of what it can bring, I am instead going to break down that imaginary door into the unknown with my head high and my camera at my eye.
But why wait until January when I could start building my tomorrows today? With this thought in mind, I present to you some of the parting shots I'm taking at 2019, little bricks that will build my path to a better year to come.
I wish you and your loved ones as wonderful a holiday season as possible, and the hope and energy to punch 2019 where it hurts as you saunter into 2020.
Sunsets Are Cool Too...
For months I've told my son that one day I'd take him to see a sunset, and I finally got my chance to make good on that promise on the July 4th holiday weekend. We drove to the Sanibel area in Southwest Florida, and after a meal of sandwiches and s'mores we drove to a quiet pier for one of my favorite natural phenomena. I stood with my little boy, surrounded by nature and family, and I watched him turn and turn, trying to take it all in. Smiling, I asked him what he thought of sunsets. He smiled back, his eyes bright with delight, and he answered, "I think I still like sunrises better". 🙄😂
Anyway, here are some pictures of the sunset.
