I hear that the very beginning is a very good place to start, so let's go there!
When I studied photography in college, my absolute favorite assignments and my absolute favorite photos were the abstract ones. They're like poetry, and much like poetry I often don't get it when others do it, but boy do I love to produce my own.
I have to confess that a huge reason why I joined the Broward Art Guild is that they had on their calendar an exhibit called “Abstractions”. I nearly squealed with joy when I saw it listed for September and I have been secretly counting down the months to this opening.
Imagine my delight (read: I nearly fell of the bed, and then proceeded to call my Mommy) when the Guild called to tell me one of my pieces has been selected for a Judge's Recognition! You can see all of the pieces I'm presenting in the video below (the winner is the third piece in the vid), but first take a moment to squee with me! SQUEEEEEEE!!!
Ok, now mark your calendars for Saturday 9/14 from 6p-9p at the Broward Art Guild Gallery (3280 NE 32nd St, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33308).
